Ayurvedic tips for Painful Menstruation.
Painful Menstruation is known as Rajah-kricchra. According to Ayurveda, predominance of DOSHAS (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) attributes Painful Menstruation.
Pain may appear before the menstruation starts and may subside thereafter. It may also continue till the end of the menstruation.
The pain effects different organs of the lower pelvic region and at times, it becomes severe.
There might be Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite and Constipation.
Sleep of the person suffering from this problem may be disturbed.
According to Ayurveda Apana Vayu is responsible for the elimination of menstrual blood, stool, urine, ovum and sperm(in males).

Ayurveda suggests the use of Kumari(Allovera). Juice is extracted from its pulp and given to the patient. The juice can be dehydrated and given to the patient. And the stuff obtained after dehydrating the is used in medicine.
1) Kumari Asava:
This is prepared from this drug.
It is given to the patient in a dose of 6 teaspoonfuls twice a day after food with equal quantity of water.
This is a ayurvedic tablet, that helps in cure of this problem. Two tablets of this medicine are given to the patient, twice a day for about 7 days, immediately before the due dates of menses.

Asafoetida added to food in sufficient quantity can help in cure.
It can be fried with ghee or butter in a big spoon over fire. This makes it brittle and this powder can be made out if conveniently. This powder should be taken in a dose of 1 teaspoonful, twice daily along with food, it may b added with butter milk or vegetable, rice and taken.
