Ayurveda – Amalaki and its medical importance
Amalaki is on among the most effect and frequently used herb in ayurvedic medicine. It has major role in traditional medicine, it has powers to purify blood, balance thridosha, improve digestion and many more medical importance. Along with medical importance, Amalaki has has got traditional importance also, the Amalaki tree is worshiped by Hindus as the Vishnu is believed to dwell here. It is also believed that the tree has originated from the drops of Amrit which spilled on earth accidentally, because of the fight of Gods and Demons after ksheera sagar manthan. And hence also this religious belief makes claims that it almost cures every disease and is also good in extending the longevity of life.
Medical properties of Amalaki
Reduces acidity, baldness, boils in mouth, cough , cold , constipation, head ache, chronic fever, diabetes, premature ejaculation, high blood pressure, jaundice, migraine, obesity ,acts as a rejuvenator.
Health toner, rejuvenates the system, helps to balance blood sugar, supports healthy reproductive system, awakens digestion, protects and tonifies the eyes.
Hair Care: add 750gms of amla fruits after making multiple pinholes in them in 1 liter coconut oil and keep in direct sunlight for 10 days, prevents premature graying and falling of hair.
Skin Care: Take one spoon full of amalaki powder every night with lukewarm water. It will prevent pimple and makes your skin clean and glowing.
